Countries of origin: Madagascar, Reunion, Comoro Islands (our essential oil comes from Madagascar)

Extraction method: steam distillation of flowers

Uses:

- for depression, in stressful situations, for insomnia, fears,…

- for nervousness, rapid heartbeat and high blood pressure;

- for skin care, as it regenerates and promotes healing;

- in natural perfumes.

NOTE: Ylang Ylang essential oil is produced by fractional distillation (distillation in stages), which usually takes up to 24 hours, producing oils of five qualities: extra, I., II., III. and complete. These fractions are collected separately according to distillation time. The first stage is »extra« and this oil contains the most sweetness, which is why it is widely used in the perfume industry. Then follow I., II. and III. The »complete« oil is obtained by running the distillation continuously.

Special warnings: May cause skin irritation. In excessive amounts it can cause headaches and dizziness. A concentration of up to 0.8% is recommended for application to the skin. Should not be used on inflamed skin or in cases of dermatitis. Do not use on children under 2 years of age.

Aromatherapy tip with recipe:

Solid perfume for emotional balance

2 tablespoons shea butter

2-3 tablespoons jojoba oil

3 drops vitamin E

1-2 drops EO ylang ylang extra

3 drops EO neroli

3 drops EO sweet orange

2 drops EO mandarin/grapefruit/bergamot

Preparation: In a water bath, heat the jojoba oil and shea butter until the butter melts. Remove from the bath, add vitamin E and essential oils, stir and pour into a suitable container. Cover with a paper towel, wait for it to cool and close.

Use: The solid perfume can be used daily or whenever you want to improve your mood. Apply it to the inside of the wrist, neck (behind the ears) and temples. Enjoy the wonderful feeling! :)
