Sorbitol powder

Sorbitol is a hygroscopic compound, meaning it binds moisture to itself. It is therefore used as a humectant in cosmetic products.

Originally, sorbitol was obtained from the fruits of the rowan tree, which contain up to 12% sorbitol. It is also found in many other stone fruits, for example in pears, plums, apples, peaches, apricots...

Industrially, it is produced from corn and wheat starch via glucose, which is then reduced.
In cosmetics, sorbitol is used as a thickener that provides viscosity and the right texture to your products. In creams, shampoos, conditioners, etc., it also acts as a powerful humectant and helps the skin retain its moisture and firmness.

Sorbitol can therefore be used with great benefit in, among other things:

• Body lotions
• Creams
• Shampoos
• Hair conditioners
• Sun care products
• After-shave products
• Toothpastes

Usage: add to the water phase, typically between 5 and 50%. For external use only.
