Sunflower oil

Sunflower oil is pale yellow in color, with a barely perceptible scent and a light consistency. It is a common ingredient in skin care, hair care, and makeup products. The oil is rich in vitamins (especially vitamin E, A, C, and D) and fatty acids. It is non-comedogenic, meaning sunflower oil does not clog pores.

Sunflower oil and acne

The oil is extremely light and non-greasy. It absorbs easily into the skin without clogging or blocking pores. Thanks to its abundance of vitamins and fatty acids, it acts as an antioxidant and regenerates and renews the skin.

Sunflower oil and dry skin

It is a natural skin softener that also moisturizes generously, making it especially suitable for dry, dehydrated, and/or sensitive skin. It creates a moisturizing barrier on the skin, helping to prevent infections and inflammation, even in infants (it is excellent for diaper rash).

Sunflower oil and hair

Just as it does for the skin, sunflower oil has a moisturizing effect on hair, softening it and adding a pleasant shine. Pure sunflower oil can be applied directly to the scalp, where it is gently massaged in.

Sunflower oil is therefore very useful in the preparation of homemade creams, hair balms, lotions, soaps, and more.

Recipes:

Hair balm: mix one tablespoon of sunflower oil with one tablespoon of wheat germ oil. Warm the mixture slightly and massage it into your hair. Leave on for 1–2 minutes, then rinse with warm water to which you have added a tablespoon of lemon juice.

Face mask: mix together half a cup of plain yogurt (for exfoliation), half a cup of sunflower oil, and a tablespoon of lemon juice (for natural brightening and prevention of age spots). Apply the mixture evenly to the face. Leave on for 10–20 minutes and rinse with warm water.
