PCA Glyceryl Oleate (Dermofeel P-30 MB)

PCA glyceryl oleate was developed to meet the requirements of natural cosmetic products. It is a 100% natural substance made from natural glyceryl monooleate with pyrrolidone carboxylic acid (PCA), derived from natural glutamic acid. 

PCA glyceryl oleate is a naturally derived lipophilic liquid that is effective even in very small quantities. It is made by combining oleic acid, glycerin and the amino acid known as pyrrolidone carboxylic acid (PCA), which is part of the natural moisturising factor in the skin. It comes in the form of a highly viscous, i.e. thick liquid, with excellent skin regenerating properties, particularly for hair, making it a great addition to shampoos and hair conditioners. PCA glyceryl oleate is also permitted in certified natural cosmetics – Ecocert and COSMOS.

On its own it does not act as a standalone hair conditioner, but it has the ability to adhere to the surface of the hair, thereby replacing the fats that have been lost from the hair due to damage (hair colouring, overly strong shampoos …). It does not build up on hair and does not weigh the hair down after use. It also has the function of reducing static electricity in hair and making detangling easier.

It is compatible with all types of surfactants.

In emulsions, add it to the oil phase.

Recommended usage amount: 0.5 – 2%

Optimal product pH: 4.5 – 5.5, must be kept below 7

Usage:
– hair shampoos 1%; for fine hair that quickly becomes greasy approx. 0.5%
– hair conditioners 0.5% for leave-in products and up to 1.5% for rinse-out products
– hair oils
– skin moisturising products
