Lysolecithin is a natural emulsifier produced by the enzymatic breakdown of lecithin. It is a stronger emulsifier than lecithin, but similarly usually requires the presence of another (co-)emulsifier and a thickener, as it does not add body to emulsions. It is somewhat more difficult to dissolve during emulsion preparation (in the oil phase), and it is also highly hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture from the surrounding environment. It must be stored tightly sealed. It leaves a smooth feel on the skin and prevents skin dehydration by forming a film on it.

It is intended for making oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions and is most suitable for dry to normal skin.

It is approved by the Cosmos standard.

Usage: 1-4%
