Latin name: Satureia montana
Countries of origin: Španija, France, Morocco, former Yugoslav countries (our essential oil comes from the Slovenian Karst)
Extraction method: steam distillation of flowers and leaves

We use it:
- for respiratory infections and illness: flu, bronchitis, inflammation of the vocal cords and tonsils,…
- for digestive problems: parasites, infections, also stimulates appetite;
- for urinary tract infections and to promote urination;
- when we want to stimulate the immune system, as it raises resistance and tones the whole body;
- for mood elevation, mental fatigue and depression.
Methods of use: in ointments, massage oils, in diffusers/burners, for inhalations,…
Special warnings: May irritate mucous membranes and skin, so use in low concentrations. Do not apply to damaged skin. Do not use on children under 2 years of age.

Aromatherapy tip with recipe:
Blend for cold and flu
30 ml base vegetable oil
4 drops EO Karst savory
6 drops EO juniper
5 drops EO sweet orange
3 drops EO Siberian fir
Preparation: Drop the essential oils into a dark 30 ml bottle and rub between your palms (mix well). Add approx. 30 ml of base cold-pressed vegetable oil (e.g. almond, jojoba), seal tightly, label and store in a cool, dark place.
Use: apply to the chest area and the upper back. Breathe deeply :)
