Pollution poses an enormous risk to human health. Pollutants, which are mostly found in extremely small particles invisible to the naked eye, have a negative impact not only on our lungs and overall health, but also cause significant damage to our skin. Daily exposure to pollution represents a major threat to skin health, as the skin is affected at various levels, with consequences visible in:
- accelerated external (premature) skin aging,
- increased oxidative stress,
- frequent skin inflammation.

HerbaShield is an advanced active ingredient of natural origin, approved by the COSMOS and ECOCERT standards and confirmed in both in vitro and in vivo testing. It targets three critically important mechanisms that naturally reduce pollution-induced damage and consequently help prevent premature skin aging:

- strengthening the protective lipid skin barrier, which prevents the penetration and accumulation of harmful pollutants;
- improving internal detoxification processes to mitigate the harmful effects of pollution,
- additional cellular protection through powerful antioxidant action to combat oxidative stress.

HerbaShield is a multi-component active ingredient based on botanical extracts and natural phospholipids that specifically target these three mechanisms. They reduce damage and prevent premature skin aging caused by pollution. It is a highly effective anti-aging active.

HerbaShield composition (active ingredients):
Watercress (Nasturtium officinale)
The detoxifying effect can be attributed to the chemical compound isothiocyanate, which stimulates detoxification enzymes in the skin. Watercress extract has proven to be effective protection against both urban pollution and exposure to cigarette smoke. By inhibiting tyrosinase, a key enzyme in melanin synthesis, it also has a brightening effect.
Stinging nettle (Urtica dioica)
The active compounds in nettle are flavonoids, and in our product the key active is quercetin. It has the ability to enhance the activity of the Nrf2 activator, which stimulates the production of antioxidant enzymes and the detoxification process.
Field horsetail (Equisetum arvense)
Silicic acid strengthens connective tissue and stimulates the production of collagen fibers. As it also acts as an astringent, horsetail extract leaves the skin feeling firmer and is therefore used in face, neck, and décolleté care products. It also minimizes pores and has antimicrobial properties, making it suitable for products targeting oily and impure skin with enlarged and clogged pores. The extract also acts as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, thereby increasing cellular resistance to oxidative stress. In addition to the aforementioned acid, the active compounds in horsetail also include flavonoids, particularly kaempferol, quercetin, and protogenkwain glycosides.
Hydrogenated lecithin (non GMO)
Epidermal lipids play a primary role in the protective skin barrier and its integrity. If the barrier is damaged, it fails to provide adequate protection against external influences and the penetration of pollutants. Hydrogenated phospholipids improve the skin's barrier protection and offer the skin numerous benefits such as forming a protective barrier, restoring the lipid mantle on the skin, and increasing skin hydration.
