Gatuline Age Defense is a natural ingredient used in cosmetic products, particularly in anti-aging skincare. It is valued for its antioxidant, protective, and regenerative properties, which help improve the appearance of the skin, especially by reducing signs of aging.

Skin aging occurs in two ways. Intrinsic aging is a natural process over which we have only minimal influence, while extrinsic aging is the cumulative effect of UV exposure and environmental stress over time.
The Gatuline Age Defense ingredient protects the skin's natural cellular antioxidant system. It is an extract from walnut, exceptionally rich in polyphenols, amino acids, mineral salts, and vitamin B. It protects the skin from external factors such as UV rays and pollution, which affect it most and leave visible consequences reflected in aged skin. It inhibits oxidative stress, protects against environmental factors, and fights aging.

Applications:

Face creams: Frequently used in day and night creams, as it helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, increases skin elasticity, and promotes its natural regeneration.

Serums: A popular ingredient in anti-aging serums, as it penetrates the skin quickly and works effectively against free radicals that cause skin damage.

Eye area creams: Due to its ability to reduce puffiness and improve microcirculation, it is frequently used in products for the care of the delicate eye area.

BB creams and products with UV protection: Gatuline Age Defense is also used in products that provide protection from the sun and pollution, as it helps protect the skin from environmental factors that contribute to skin aging.

Hair care products: Its antioxidant and protective properties are particularly useful for preventing damage to hair and the scalp, and for improving their overall appearance and elasticity.

In vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo tests have shown:
- Stimulated keratinocyte proliferation and fibroblast synthesis,
- effective protection against oxidative stress,
- reduced apoptosis due to UV rays by as much as 54%,
- successful protection of hair against peroxidation.

Example of use in a face cream:

for 100 g of face cream with Gatuline Age Defense at a concentration of 3%, you will need:

Gatuline Age Defense concentration: 3% = 3 g per 100 g of cream
Remaining cream ingredients:

For the remaining 97 g of cream, you would use various ingredients such as:

Emollients (for retaining moisture in the skin): e.g. shea butter, jojoba oil
Emulsifiers (for stability): e.g. cetearyl alcohol, emulsifying wax
Water or hydrolat: often makes up the bulk of the cream
Humectants (glycerin, D-panthenol, 1,3 propanediol...)
Other active ingredients (vitamins,...)
Preservatives: to prevent product spoilage
Fragrances and essential oils (optional)
