BTMS emulsifier

BTMS is made from rapeseed oil and is known for its exceptional mildness and gentleness, making it very suitable for leave-on products (creams, lotions, butters,...).

BTMS can be used as a standalone emulsifier or as a co-emulsifier with other emulsifiers, such as Emulsifying Wax.

The recommended usage rate for BTMS emulsifier is approx. 1 to 10%. It melts at temperatures of approx. 60 °C, and is melted in the oil phase.

Recipe for hair conditioner:

•         376 grams distilled water or rosemary hydrosol (83%)
•         22 grams vegetable glycerin (5%)
•        27 grams BTMS emulsifier (6%)
•         13 grams jojoba oil (3%)
•          4 grams almond oil (1%)
•          4 grams Optiphen preservative (1%)
•          4 grams fragrance (essential or fragrance oil) (1%)

Combine all ingredients (except the preservative and fragrance) in a container and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the emulsifier is completely dissolved. Keep the temperature at the same level for approx. 10 more minutes, then remove the container from the heat and wait until the mixture cools below 60 degrees Celsius. Add the preservative and fragrance, mix well and pour into prepared bottles or containers.
