White clay

Clay face mask:

Mix a spoonful of clay with enough water to form a smooth paste, then apply it in a thin layer to your face. Leave on for 10 - 15 minutes, then rinse the mask off with lukewarm water.

If your skin is sensitive or dry, you can remove the mask after just five minutes.

Instead of water, you can also use herbal teas or hydrolats in the mask, which further enhance its beneficial effect on your skin. If desired, you can also add a drop or two of your chosen essential oil to the paste.

If you have normal to dry skin, you can replace the water in the paste with honey, yogurt, cream, milk, or vegetable glycerin. You can also mix in mashed avocado flesh or fresh cucumber.

People with oilier skin can add witch hazel extract or hydrolat, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, or egg white to the mixture.

For acne-prone skin, add a drop or two of tea tree or lavender essential oil to the mask along with the vinegar or lemon juice.

Clay is also an excellent addition to CP soaps. It is added directly to the oils.

The percentage of kaolin clay used in cosmetics can vary depending on the specific product and its intended use. In general, kaolin clay is used in cosmetic formulations in concentrations ranging from 1% to 20%.

In face masks, for example, kaolin clay is often used as the primary ingredient in concentrations of 10% to 30%. This is because kaolin clay has excellent absorbent properties and oil-control characteristics, making it effective at drawing out impurities and excess oil from the skin.

In other skincare products, such as cleansers and scrubs, kaolin clay is typically used in lower concentrations, usually around 1% to 5%. This is because these products are designed for more frequent use, and higher concentrations of kaolin clay can cause dryness and irritation with regular use.

Important:

• Use clay, glass, or plastic containers and utensils.
• Add liquid gradually (until you achieve a smooth and spreadable paste) and wait 5 minutes for the clay to swell.
• Apply a thin, even layer of clay paste to cleansed skin, leave on for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse off with lukewarm water.
• It is recommended to use once or twice a week.
• Store dry clay in a sealed wooden, glass, or plastic container.
