Dead Sea mud
420 metres below sea level, at the lowest point on Earth, lies the Dead Sea. With an average of 330 sunny days a year and an oxygen-rich atmosphere, the Dead Sea is a precious gem of health and relaxation for people around the world.
It is one of the saltiest lakes in the world, so only a few types of microorganisms (anaerobic bacteria) and one species of algae can be found in it — hence the name "Dead Sea". The average salinity of the Dead Sea is 24%–33% (345 g of salt per litre), while the salinity of other oceans is 3% (35 g of salt per litre), meaning the salinity of the Dead Sea is 10 times higher.
Despite the name "Dead Sea", it is in fact one of the greatest natural wonders, as its beneficial effects make it a true blessing for the human body.
An exceptionally high concentration of more than 35 minerals (magnesium, calcium, potassium, iron,…), with their healing properties:
- soothes aching muscles and joints
- stimulates natural circulation
- helps relieve tension and stress
- alleviates numerous allergic reactions
- eases the symptoms of psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema, acne, dandruff,…
- prevents premature skin ageing
In particular, Dead Sea mud — a mixture of Dead Sea minerals and organic matter from the shore — has a therapeutic effect on the body. With regular use and application of the mud to the body, both psychological and physical complaints (arthritis, rheumatism, cellulite, headaches,…) improve significantly.
