Simulgel EG

INCI: Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer/Isohexadecane/Polysorbate 80

Simulgel is a pre-neutralised liquid polymer used for thickening the water phase, stabilising emulsions and as a standalone emulsifier. It quickly and easily forms non-sticky gels – there is no need to pre-disperse, hydrate or neutralise it. When water is added, it begins to form a polymer network, instantly creating a stable gel.

It is used to make firm, non-sticky gels, such as facial gels, body gels and gel masks. It also performs well as a stabiliser in various emulsions – for face, body and hair. It is also a polymeric emulsifier for cold-process use – with it you can make various types of emulsions, from light gel creams with a low oil phase to rich creams with a high oil content. Since it allows emulsions to be made without heating, it is suitable for emulsions that contain many ingredients and are sensitive to heating (unstable vegetable oils, plant extracts, active ingredients). Unlike many cold-process emulsifiers, Simulgel EG does not require additional stabilisers or thickeners.

Amount of oil phase (when used as an emulsifier): up to 40%

Optimal product pH: 5.5-11

Electrolyte resistance (salts, proteins, acids, sodium lactate, …): Not resistant!

Use:
Used in water-based gels (2-6%) and emulsions (as a stabiliser 0.5-2%; as an emulsifier 1-5%). Allows cold-process work; can be heated to a maximum of 75°C.

Add to water; to stabilise emulsions it can also be added to the oil phase, or at the end, after combining the oil and water phases.

Before use, always shake the bottle of Simulgel!
