Lemon eucalyptus BIO essential oil

Latin name: Eucalyptus citriodora

Caution: There are several species of eucalyptus (globulus, radiata, citriodora, smithii, dives), so be careful which one you use, as the chemical structure and action differ greatly!

Countries of origin: S Africa, Madagascar, Brazil, China, India, Ethiopia,… (our essential oil comes from Brazil)

Extraction method: steam distillation of leaves

Note and evaporation rate: high

Cultivation method: organic

Predominant chemical families: aldehydes, monoterpenols

We use it:

- in natural repellents (one of the most effective EOs for this purpose!);

- for respiratory problems: bronchitis, catarrh, cold, flu, sinusitis,…

- for arthritis;

- to boost circulation;

- to reduce fever or for inflammations, as it has a cooling effect.

Methods of use: in ointments, massage oils, for inhalations, in evaporators/diffusers, in natural repellents,…

Special warnings: If oxidised, it may cause skin irritation. Use in a concentration below 1%.

Allergens: limonene, linalool, citronellol

Aromatherapy tip with recipe:

Repellent spray

100 ml peppermint hydrolat

10 drops EO lemon eucalyptus

10 drops EO citronella

5 drops EO patchouli

5 drops EO cedarwood

Preparation: Drop the essential oils into a 100 ml bottle of peppermint hydrolat. Store in a cool, dark place.

Use: Spray the repellent over all areas of skin that will be exposed. Reapply regularly. Shake the bottle well before each use!
