Coco caprylate is a lightweight, biodegradable ester of plant origin that can be used as a natural replacement for silicones. On the skin it gives a smooth and silky dry-oil feel, which is why it is used in various products to reduce the oily and greasy feeling on the skin.
It is obtained by esterification of coconut fatty alcohols and caprylic fatty acid. It does not irritate the skin, softens it similarly to vegetable oils, and allows for a pleasant application of the product to the skin.

It is suitable for use in natural cosmetics (Ecocert, COSMOS, Nature).

Solubility: in oil, can be heated.
Usage: mostly used between 2% and 25%, in dry body oils up to 100%.
