Product Description

Description and properties: Obtained by steam distillation of lavender flowers. Lavender has been used since antiquity for personal hygiene and for scenting rooms and clothing. Even its name derives from the Latin word lavare, meaning to bathe or wash. The hydrosol acts as an anti-inflammatory, anti-infective, antiviral, bactericidal, sedative, and more. Lavender water is an excellent tonic, especially for skin with blemishes, discolouration, and acne. As a bactericide it destroys bacteria on the skin (including in acne, of course, which is caused by bacteria), and as a toner it penetrates deep into the pores without clogging them. It is suitable for all skin types and all ages; traditionally it is used at night, before sleep, applied to the face before cream and left to work its magic while we sleep and regenerate.

The hydrosol is excellent as a facial mist for adults and children, including after scratches, surface injuries, insect bites, or sunburn. It is a wonderful facial or body mist on hot days, and can also be used to freshen clothing or rooms. If a piece of fabric is dampened with it, it makes an excellent cleansing wipe for the face, hands, or a baby's bottom.

In summer heat it cools, soothes sunburn, and eases shaving cuts.

Lavender water helps relieve headaches, stress, and mental exhaustion. To calm children, they can be wiped down with lavender water after bathing, or some can be added directly to the bath.

Uses of hydrosols: as an addition to baths; they can be used to make excellent masks with Argiletz cosmetic clay (green, white, red, pink, yellow), where they replace water or tea; for moisturising the face before applying creams; as a toning mist that revitalises, refreshes, and renews the skin on the face; they can be spritzed on as a substitute for perfume; they can be used instead of room fresheners; for scenting bed linen; for aromatherapy instead of or in combination with essential oils,…

Usage tips: Shake before use. Facial cleansing: Moisten a cotton pad with the hydrosol and cleanse the facial skin with circular movements, repeat if necessary. Tonic/facial mist: Spray onto cleansed facial skin before applying moisturiser. Take care to avoid the eyes. Repeat several times a day as needed for refreshment. Face mask: Mix with Argiletz clay and apply to a cleansed face. Leave on for 10 – 15 minutes, rinse with water, moisten the skin with hydrosol, and apply moisturiser or a plant oil. Bath: Pour some hydrosol into a tub filled with water and enjoy its beneficial effects. Hair care: Spray onto freshly washed hair and massage into the scalp. No rinsing required. Storage: Store hydrosols in a dark, cool place, ideally in the refrigerator, as this effectively prevents the growth of bacteria that might develop over time. After opening, use the hydrosol within half a year.
