Description and benefits: Obtained by steam distillation of BIO common lemon balm leaves. The hydrosol is gentle yet highly effective and as such is used as a key ingredient in many well-known facial toners, as it excellently awakens and tones the skin. It revives tired and mature skin and brings it back to life, which is why it is used in the morning after restless nights, when it will firm, awaken, and freshly prepare your skin for a new day. Lemon balm is excellent for problematic skin and complements our lavender hydrosol perfectly, both in terms of its effects and its scent.

Lemon balm is also known for its antiviral properties; it also acts astringently (minimising pores) on oily skin and has a tonifying effect, meaning it evens out uneven skin tone. Lemon balm hydrosol is also used in anti-fungal products, prevents skin infections, and is said to even heal herpes. Spritzing lemon balm on the face also lifts us emotionally and acts as an antidepressant, while at the same time pleasantly relaxing us, calming anger, and easing insomnia.

Uses for hydrosols: as an addition to baths, to make excellent masks with Argiletz cosmetic clay (green, white, red, pink, yellow) by using them instead of water or tea, for moisturising the face before applying creams, as a tonic that revives, refreshes, and renews facial skin, they can be sprayed on instead of perfume, used instead of room fresheners, for scenting bed linen, for aromatherapy instead of or in combination with essential oils,…

Usage instructions: Shake before use. Face cleansing: Moisten a cotton pad with the hydrosol and cleanse the facial skin using circular motions; repeat if necessary. Toner/facial spray: Spray onto cleansed facial skin before applying moisturiser. Avoid contact with eyes. Repeat several times a day as needed for refreshment. Face mask: Mix with Argiletz clay and apply to cleansed face. Leave on for 10 – 15 minutes, rinse with water, moisturise the skin with the hydrosol and apply a moisturising cream or plant oil. Bath: Pour some hydrosol into a bath filled with water and enjoy its beneficial effects. Hair care: Spray onto freshly washed hair and massage into the scalp. Rinsing is not necessary. Storage: Store hydrosols in a dark, cool place, ideally in the refrigerator, as this effectively inhibits the growth of bacteria that might develop over time. After opening, use the hydrosol within six months.
