Rich Protective Body Cream for the Whole Family

This rich, nourishing and protective cream is designed for dry, very dry and dehydrated skin. Shea butter, lanolin and beeswax create a comfortable protective layer on the skin, while urea, D-panthenol, Honeyquat and a selected hydrosol help maintain hydration, softness and suppleness.

The cream is especially suitable for dry hands, feet, elbows, knees and other areas that require more intensive care. Due to its rich formulation, only a small amount is needed.

For children and sensitive skin, we recommend preparing the cream without essential oils or fragrance.

Ingredients for 100 g / 100 %

PHASE A – water phase: 37.5 %

• 34.5 g selected hydrosol

• 3 g urea

You can use Roman chamomile, true lavender, neroli, rose hydrosol, or another suitable hydrosol depending on the intended purpose of the cream.

PHASE B – oil phase: 55.5 %

• 30 g refined shea butter

• 8 g castor oil

• 5 g lanolin

• 5 g beeswax

• 7 g emulsifying wax

• 0.5 g cetyl alcohol

PHASE C – cool-down phase: 7 %

• 2 g Honeyquat

• 3 g D-panthenol

• 1.5 g vitamin E

• 0.5 g Cosgard

Total: 100 g / 100 %

Optional

Up to 0.2% of a selected fragrance or essential oil may be added. In this case, subtract the same amount from the hydrosol.

Example: if you add 0.2 g of fragrance, use 34.3 g of hydrosol.

For a cream intended for children or sensitive skin, we recommend omitting fragrance and essential oils.

You will also need

• two heat-resistant containers

• a precision scale

• a thermometer

• a stick blender or homogenizer

• a spatula

• sanitized packaging

• pH strips or a pH meter

Method

1. Before starting, clean and disinfect the work surface, utensils and packaging. Wash your hands thoroughly or wear protective gloves.

2. Set aside approximately 5 g of the total hydrosol and reserve it for dissolving the urea. Weigh the remaining hydrosol into a heat-resistant container and heat to approximately 70 °C.

3. In a second heat-resistant container, weigh all ingredients from Phase B: shea butter, castor oil, lanolin, beeswax, emulsifying wax and cetyl alcohol.

4. Heat the oil phase to approximately 70 °C, or until all ingredients have completely melted. Before combining, both phases should be at approximately the same temperature.

5. Slowly pour the heated water phase into the oil phase and immediately begin mixing with a stick blender or homogenizer.

6. Blend in short intervals until a uniform emulsion forms. Continue cooling while stirring occasionally.

7. Dissolve the urea in the reserved hydrosol. Once the emulsion has cooled below 40 °C, gradually stir in the dissolved urea.

8. Add Honeyquat, D-panthenol, vitamin E and Cosgard. If using fragrance or essential oil, add it at the end. Mix thoroughly after each addition.

9. Check the pH of the finished product. The recommended pH is approximately 5.0–5.5. Adjust carefully if necessary.

10. Transfer the finished cream into clean, sanitized packaging. The final viscosity develops during cooling, so the cream will usually be thicker the following day than immediately after preparation.

Use

Apply a small amount of cream to clean skin and massage in gently. Due to its rich and protective formulation, it is particularly suitable for dry and very dry skin and areas that need more intensive care.

Important

For external use only. Do not apply to damaged or irritated skin and avoid direct contact with the eyes.

Before first use, we recommend performing a patch test on a small area of skin, especially for children, elderly individuals and people with sensitive skin or known allergies. Lanolin, bee-derived ingredients, hydrosols, fragrances and essential oils may cause an unwanted reaction in sensitive individuals.

This cream is not intended for children under one year of age. For children and sensitive skin, we recommend a fragrance-free and essential-oil-free version.
