Sucragel AOF

Sucragel AOF is a versatile 100% natural oil thickener (the base is almond oil) and emulsifier that allows oils to transform into a "milky" emulsion upon contact with water. Sucragel is completely natural, making it ideal for creating products from entirely natural ingredients.

Sucragel AOF is a natural emulsifier suitable for creating gels and lotions (including by cold process). It thickens oils (creates a gel), and upon contact with water it emulsifies and transforms into a milky texture. It acts as a surfactant (surface-active substance) while also nourishing the skin and preventing dryness.

Notes:

• When working with Sucragel AOF, it is very important to add the ingredients in the correct order. First prepare the Sucragel, then add the oil phase, and only then add the water phase (if used). Mix very well.

• It is primarily suitable for use with vegetable oils, in a pH range between 4 and 8 (so be careful when using acids).

RECIPE:

Gel-to-milk shower oil / massage gel (100 g)

Goal: a silky body oil-gel that emulsifies in the shower and leaves skin soft.

Formula (%, for 100 g)

Phase A

Sucragel AOF........................ 15.0 %

Vitamin E........................... 0.3 %

Phase B (oils)

Macadamia oil..................... 30.0 %

Apricot kernel oil.............. 30.0 %

Fractionated coconut oil (Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride).. 22.7 %

Fragrance/EO (e.g. vanilla, orange). 2.0 % (body can tolerate more; check IFRA)
Total: 100 %

Method

Weigh the Sucragel into a tall beaker.

Add the oils (Phase B) very slowly, drop by drop, with continuous stirring (handheld mini mixer or spatula).

Once you have incorporated ~10–15% of the oils, the gel will begin to form (you will notice thickening and opalescence). Continue adding slowly.

Finally, mix in the fragrance/EO. Stir until you have a homogeneous, glossy gel texture with no separation.

Use

Apply to damp skin in the shower, massage in → upon contact with water it transforms into a milk → rinse off. Leaves skin soft and non-greasy.

Adjustments

More nourishing: replace 5–10% MCT with argan/olive squalane.

Extra slip: 1–2% isopropyl myristate (if you want a drier feel).

For very sensitive skin, keep EO at 0–0.5%.
