Beta-escin is derived from horse chestnut fruit. It is a mixture of saponins that strengthens capillary walls and improves blood flow in the veins. It gives a feeling of light legs when standing or sitting for long periods at work. It is a venotonic and is very beneficial for venous insufficiency and problems with varicose veins.

It also has anti-inflammatory properties and reduces swelling. It is used in skin-firming and
body-contouring products as well as in anti-aging formulations.

It is also used in the prevention of foot sores and diabetic ulcers.

When using it in your products, we recommend first mixing it with glycerin and then adding the remaining water-based ingredients (hydrolats, aloe vera juice,…). Use it in formulations at 1–2%.

FORMULATION:

Body-contouring lotion for light leg feeling (with Beta-escin)

A light lotion for the care of tired and swollen legs, support of the venous system and firming of loose and cellulite-prone skin. Based on the action of Beta-escin from horse chestnut and ivy extract, which together stimulate microcirculation and reduce the feeling of heavy legs.

The lotion absorbs quickly, leaves no greasy feeling, and is suitable for daily use.

Ingredients (for 100 g of product):

Water phase

• Witch hazel hydrolat (Hamamelis) – 20 g

• Immortelle hydrolat – 18 g

• Green tea hydrolat – 18 g

• Aloe vera gel – 25,5 g

• Alcohol 96 % – 2 g

Active ingredients

• Glycerin – 3 g

• Beta-escin – 2 g

• Ivy extract (water-soluble) – 10 g

Oils and solubilization

• Dermofeel® G 10 LV – 4 g

• Grapeseed oil – 1 g

Essential oils (total 1,3 g)

• Lemongrass – 0,3 g

• Sweet orange – 0,3 g

• Juniper – 0,3 g

• Atlas cedar – 0,2 g

• Neroli – 0,2 g

Other

• Cosgard – 0,5 g

• Target pH: 5,0–5,5
