Batana oil

Batana oil is a traditional plant oil from Central America, primarily from Honduras. It is obtained from the fruits of the Elaeis oleifera palm, and is often also called the “miracle oil for hair”.

It has been used for centuries by the Miskito people, who are also known as the “Tawira – people of beautiful hair.”

The oil is darker in colour (the colour is usually dark amber, brown-orange or almost copper), has a mild nutty scent and is very rich in fatty acids and antioxidants. Batana oil may be partially solid at lower temperatures. It re-liquefies at room temperature.

Warning:
Batana oil has a naturally darker tint, so on very light, blonde or bleached hair it may temporarily leave a slightly tinted tone. The effect gradually washes out after a few washes. We recommend a patch test on a small strand of hair before use.
